HIPAAT Presents its Consent Management Software in Washington

HIPAAT had the distinct pleasure of presenting its consent management technologies at the Consumer Choice Technology Hearing of the U.S. Health IT Policy Committee Privacy & Security Tiger Team on June 29th.

Sponsored by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT under the Department of Health and Human Services, the hearing featured specific technologies that enable consumers to choose whether or not to participate in electronic health information exchange.

We were invited to demonstrate our “cutting edge” solutions that enable patients/consumers to make simple, detailed privacy choices about the information shared from their electronic health record.

What was the outcome?

The hearing’s demonstrations with panel discussion indicated that standards and technologies are in place to enable consumer choice now, without needing to replace existing EHR systems.
