HIPAAT Supports Interoperability with IHE-Focused Products

ANN ARBOR, MI – November 22, 2005 – HIPAAT Inc. (HIPAAT), an international provider of healthcare IT safety, security and privacy solutions, today announced the upcoming launch of the ATNA Auditlog Toolkit™ (Toolkit) – Java version – at the RSNA Technical Exhibition (booth 7109, north Building) in Chicago, November 27 – December 1, 2005. The Toolkit enables imaging vendors to generate Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)-compliant audit messages from proprietary logs.

The Java version, an addition to the company’s Windows and Linux versions, supports IHE’s Audit Trail and Node Authentication (ATNA) profile. Together with HIPAAT’s Universal Audit Repository™ and Universal Compliance Module™, the Toolkit offers vendors and healthcare providers simplified, centralized security auditing capabilities.

“The healthcare community is focused on interoperability, and vendor support for IHE is growing,” said Terry Callahan, managing director of HIPAAT. “Our products integrate with OEM equipment to enable ATNA compliance, allowing imaging vendors to focus on their core business rather than on ATNA. The result is an interoperable auditing solution for vendors and healthcare providers.”

HIPAAT’s ATNA-related products, including the Toolkit, Universal Audit Repository (UAR) and Universal Compliance Module (UCM), enable enterprise-wide centralized auditing from disparate vendor equipment. The Toolkit generates ATNA Extensible Markup Language (XML) audit messages from proprietary vendor logs. The UAR, a web-based central repository of security audit events, receives such logs and offers comprehensive search and report capabilities. The UCM is a hardware/software module designed to upgrade legacy equipment (e.g. ultrasound machines and closed workstations) with user authentication, node authentication and auditing capabilities.
