Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)
IHE is an initiative designed by healthcare professionals to improve the communication between multi-vendor computer systems through the coordinated use of standards (e.g. DICOM and HL7).
Information systems developed following IHE guidelines are able to integrate with each other and communicate more effectively, providing a better clinical care experience for providers and patients.
HIPAAT supports interoperability and follows IHE guidelines.
