Mission Our mission is to empower patients and enable providers with innovative healthcare IT privacy and security solutions that enhance patient safety.
About Us HIPAAT was founded in 2002. Our company name is an acronym originally based on the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Standing for Health Information Protection and Associated Technologies, the HIPAAT name stands for our unchanging purpose – to protect health information – and the adaptable nature of our solutions.
Our Logo

Our logo reflects our patient-centric focus:

Privacy
Our software provides patients with the ability to restrict access to sensitive Personal Health Information (PHI).

Safety
Although patient information privacy is important, patient care is critical – so we enable caregivers to have ‘break the glass’ access to restricted PHI in emergency situations, where appropriate. This enables caregivers to respect patient privacy while still providing uninterrupted care.

Security
Auditing is required to ensure patient privacy. Our software generates an audit trail for all access to PHI. When a clinician breaks the glass, the privacy officer is automatically notified by e-mail or pager, allowing them to make the patient aware of the breach and the reason for it.

Market Focus Healthcare organizations and IT vendors
Solutions

HIPAAT provides interoperable, patient-centric consent management solutions to the healthcare industry. Our SOA-based software enables patients to control access to sensitive electronic personal health information (PHI) and allows care providers to meet patient privacy requirements.

HIPAAT software directly supports care providers, electronic medical records, personal health records, health information exchanges and nationwide health networks, and complements identity and access management (IAM) offerings.

Our solution set includes Privacy eSuite, Privacy Manager and Universal Audit Repository.

HIPAAT’s team participates in international standards initiatives:

Canada: Infoway Standards Collaborative Work Group for Security & Privacy, providing leadership on the Consent Management Task Group·

U.S.: Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP) – Security, Privacy & Infrastructure Technical Committee (SPI-TC)
